We’re making a splash on National Refill Day
In London it’s estimated that 1 billion bottles of water are consumed each year and 10% of the litter in the Thames is from plastic bottles. We all know that plastic pollution is causing harm to the environment, but how can we reduce our reliance on single use bottles?
Here are three ways that Pure is making it easier than ever for Londoners to say no to plastic bottles:
1. FREE FILTERED WATER
We offer filtered still & sparkling water taps in (almost) all our shops which are completely free to use, even if you’re not buying anything. We have saved over 100,000 plastic bottles, and more with every shop we open. Pop into your local Pure anytime to refill your bottle.
2. REUSABLE BOTTLES
You can pick up a Pure reusable bottle for just £5.95 and refill for free anytime, or we have glasses for you to use in store. Our reusable bottles are made in the UK and 50p from every bottle sold is donated to WaterAid.
3. RECYCLED PACKAGING
If you really need to buy a bottle of water, we stock Belu Water; bottled at source in Powys, UK and made from 50% recycled content using plastic that otherwise might go to landfill. Belu are a social enterprise and all their profits are donated to WaterAid.
At Pure we have always prioritised sustainability. Our shops are powered using renewable energy, our salad bowls are made from 90% recycled plastic and we offer a 50p discount to all customers who have a reusable cup, but we know we have a lot more to do.
Thank you for supporting National Refill Day, you can find your local free refill station here.
